Have you ever wished to go to Tasmania, but have no idea what you could do there? You search it up, only to find vague answers. Well, we can tell you all about it! From looking at little friends who pad around their habitat to watching the sunset, Tasmania has a wide range of things to do.
1.Animals!
There are many wildlife animals in Tasmania. You could be walking along when a sudden spot of grey could start moving and crossing the road. That's right! It's a wombat! They are native to Australia. Their brown fur can help them keep camouflaged in their Tassie habitat, and can also help them keep warm, safe from the cold elements of the chilly Tassie climate, being close to the south pole. They have short legs, so they may appear cute and chubby as they mind their own business. Even though they appear slow, they can reach speeds of 25 km to 40 km an hour, so if they suddenly take off, don't be surprised! If you're worried about these adorable fellas, don't worry! They are actually quite strong, and can defend themselves. Tassie devils, on the other hand, are known more for their speed. They are quite agile, and change rapidly change direction. They are nocturnal, meaning that they sleep during the day and their heightened senses help them when they are active during the night. Most of the time, they will eat carcasses of animals, not really hunting a lot. However, a disease on their face has killed them off, and they have become endangered. Luckily, humans have managed to save some of the Tassie devils, and their species has grown in number.
2.Natural landscape
Many people may talk about the beautiful landscape of Tasmania, and how majestic it is. This is actually true! The mountains and greenery spread across Tassie are alluring, and sometimes it may even snow! For people in the bigger part of Australia, you will know that you will not get snow there. However, if you traveled to Tasmania, a short trip, you would be able to see the snow! For tourists, it is just the same, you may just have to travel further to see a beautiful white, calm layer on top of the ground. It is also highly recommended to go onto a mountain in Tasmania, as the view will certainly set a nice ambiance, where the peaceful sound of nature can fill your senses, and you can unplug from your busy life. Not a fan of heights? No problem! Tassie also has many forests and beaches that will definitely suit your needs. For lovers of the outdoors, explorers and adventurers, this will be perfect for your expectations of a untouched beauty. Another recommended thing to do is to see the southern lights! Tasmania has low light pollution, allowing you to see the stars in the night sky, something that cities would not be able to offer. You will be able to watch the sky flicker with many colours, like red, blue, green and purple as you watch from the top of a mountain.
3. Wine and hot tubs
Those not a fan of the outdoors can still enjoy Tasmania! Adults will be able to enjoy some wine and Whisky while sitting in a comfortable bar, the mood and vibe perfect for relaxing and taking a drink. Wanting to go behind the scenes? No problem! Simply follow the Tasmanian Whisky Trail, where you can personally meet the distillers and enjoy a nice meal! Not a fan of the cold? This brings us to our next recommendation, suitable for people of all ages. Many places in Tasmania offer warm and cozy hot tubs! Just imagine being freezing cold, shivering, then being submerged in hot, clean water! The relaxation! Most people cannot resist the contented sigh coming from their mouth when given an opportunity like this.
4. History and festivals
Regardless of the small size of Tasmania, it still has many festivals and history. There is a festival of voices, where people can come together to enjoy a night of singing. Whether it be someone singing endlessly without pausing for breath or some funny lyrics that will certainly earn some chuckles, this festival has attracted thousands of people! Or another festival like the Tasmanian Whisky Week. This festival lets you visit events hosted by hotels, bars, distilleries and more! You will be able to have access to unreleased wines, and have a great time! Moving on, there is also history in this small state. Take a tour of Port Arthur, where the scary convict building ruins can give you a feeling of isolation, similar to what the convicts felt when they were all alone on the island. To add to that, explanations of abnormal phenomenons and unexplained events that happened there will keep you up awake at night!
There are certainly a lot of things to do in Tasmania, even though it is small. Its history and festivals bring harmony, and the natural landscape and animals adds to the beauty of the place. Of course, let's not forget the hot tubs! So, will you join us on this trip to Tasmania?
